The Championships: Maria Sharapova in the Finals!

I think it’s great for tennis that Maria Sharapova got to the final’s this year at Wimbledon because without her I’m sure NBC’s ratings would be way down. A Lisicki and Kvitova/Azarenka final would have lacked so much hype. I think it’s definitely best for the sport if Sharapova can go out and win on Saturday. She deserves it to with the way she has played and dominated, despite her serve in the semi-final. The women’s game needs some American stars to step up in order for the women’s game to come back to centre stage in Tennis. They need more players that people know and players that a North American audience can relate to. I even think Wozniacki could be a great star if she actually won a few majors but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
