Sarah “The Snake” Palin in Trouble with the “Gotcha” Law! Troopergate Continues! You Betcha!

Sarah Palin may be too stupid to know what the Bush Doctrine (“in what respect, Charlie?”) is or the difference between Iran and Iraq, but if there’s one thing she seemed to be good at during her reign of terror over Alaska, it was breaking the law. And the state scandal known as “troopergate”, where Palin attempted to fire her brother-in-law from his government job for divorcing her sister and then fired his boss when he refused her pressure, simply won’t die.

Mike Wooten, the ex-brother-in-law in question, has finally broken his silence, calling most of Palin’s trashy book, I Can See Vladimir Putin’s Sexy Shirtless Body from My House, a bunch of baseless lies. He had some choice words for the failed vice presidential candidate and her family: “They’re like poisonous snakes in the grass who spew nothing but venom… they just lay in wait and they attack you until you’re dead.” And he’s got good reason– Palin’s vindictiveness will not be curtailed by the law.

According to the Huffington Post:

An independent investigation ordered by the bipartisan Alaska Legislative Council (composed of ten Republicans and four Democrats) and conducted by former Republican prosecutor Steve Branchflower, resulted in the finding “that Governor Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.”

The report issued by Branchflower documented more than thirty occasions in which then Governor Palin, her husband Todd or members of her staff tried to influence Alaska’s highly regarded Commissioner of Public Safety, Walt Monegan, to fire Wooten. When Monegan refused, Palin fired him instead.

In addition to the finding that Palin “abused” her office, the Alaska Senate cited Todd Palin and nine other state employees for “contempt” for ignoring legislative subpoenas to testify in the Troopergate investigation.

Good thing her trash tell-all book is selling so well, because between this and the Levi Johnston custody battle the legal fees are going to be astronomical. May we suggest one of the best white collar crime lawyers in the business?
