Grilling hot dogs for the good people of Union City with Mr. Sanger, my friends, José Martí’s Freshman Academy Vice Principal Eliseo Alemán and Union City High School Security Supervisor Apolinar Rojas, men who work every day with the youth of Union City, always helping, guiding, leading by example.

Defying temperatures over 90º, thousands of Union City residents participated in one of the most important city events of the year, the National Night Out Against Crime. The crowds came out to support their stellar police department and the most popular mayor in New Jersey, Mayor Brian P. Stack. The event had a variety of activities: boxing exhibitions, car exhibits, children’s rides, live performances by Rock and Latin bands, free barbecue food and drinks, as well as popcorn, cotton candy, and other treats, and, most important of all, safety and town wide information.

It is an honor to pose in this picture with a great police officer who I have had the privilege to work alongside for the past six years at our alma mater the legendary Emerson High School. UCPO Ed Antonmarchi works with the youth of Union City on a daily basis. He is an asset to our community, a top professional, and a good man.
