again despite the efforts of West New York Mayor, Sal “High Tax” Vega, and his YES commission. Last week High Tax and his stooges voted against the First Amendment, the right of peacefully assemble. This is not new to the man the people call “The Tyrant of West New York”, and “Chemical” Vega; in 2007 he prohibited the Cuban community-Vega is reported to have been born in Cuba-from marching through West New York. Today a crowd of about 300 supporters defied the threats of Vega’s political machine and walked though the sidewalks of WNY demonstrating their disgust with the failed politician and supporting the recall efforts of Dr. Roque.

Then something unexpected to Vega’s friend$ happened: once the marchers walked into West New York hundreds of residents joined the marchers to total three and a half full side walks and more than 1,000 thousand WNY residents walked through Bergenline Avenue up to 65th Street fully repudiating “High Tax” Vega, and his YES commissioners. People came out of their houses and apartments cheering the marchers on, who chanted: “Recall Vega” and “¡Fuera Vega! as Dr. Roque’s supporters distributed the latest copy of The Pulse of West New York: the only publication that writes the truth about West New York, with exclusive interviews and fresh articles.

Dr. Felix Roque, undisputed leader and next mayor of West New York started to march for the people of West New York on 49 Street along with the corageous residents of West New York. Thousands of senior citizens, parents and their children and a members of every community of West New York joined Dr. Roque to support his recall effort against The Tyrant of West New York. “Today we are here to denounce the action taken by Sal Vega and his commissioners last Wednesday on their Town Meeting: They voted against the First Amendment, they voted against the right that the people of WNY have to freely and peacefully assemble and protest. As far as I know that only happens in totalitarian regimes, not in our great democracy but Sal Vega seems to think that his word is the law of the land. In his intoxicated world he he has created, like a Third World dictator, his own fantasies, his delusions.

This action of silencing the will of the people is now typical for Sal Vega: in 2007 he prohibited his own community from marching in West New York, denying a permit to The Cuban Parade which celebrates Cuba heritage in North Hudson.

As Cuban-Americans, we’ll never forget the lack of consideration, the lack of sensitivity and Cuban pride that he selfishly showed to his own people.

Vega’s actions are a sad commentary for a man who, like all Cubans who live in the United States, left his country seeking freedom. The actions of his political operatives resemble those of a totalitarian regime, not a democracy. As a recent example we saw how when commissioner Rodriguez tried to express his opinion before voting on the march last Thursday he was ordered by Vega to vote YES or NO and abstain from commenting on his vote. Ladies and gentleman we have a dictator in West New York, and it is up to us to reclaim our streets and our future.

Last Thursday we filed recall petitions against Mayor Vega and his commissioners. The fact that Mr. Vega has raised 47% property taxes, has buried the city in a 15.7 million deficit (in less than two years), has shown total disregard for our hard working people, for our senior citizens and for our children are reasons enough to take action against his failed administration.

In addition, Mr. Vega and his commissioners recently called in the state because they were incapable of responsibly resolve the fiscal mess they have created with their mismanagement and overspending.

I ask the people of West New York to help us restore fiscal responsibility, lower taxes and take back Town Hall from Sal Vega and his six figure friends, who are bleeding West New York with their abusive salaries.

I thank Mayor Brian Stack for allowing us to assemble a few minutes here in Union City and now we’ll move on, the last thing we want is to abuse his friendship and his kindness. All we have for mayor Stack is the utmost respect for his incredible hard work and dedication to the people of Union City and Hudson County.

Thank you,”

Dr. Felix Roque

The only publication that says it like it is in West New York is out and soon it will be at you door step because when your tell the truth about “High Tax” Vega and the YES Commission + his 85K plus friend$ you have to do do it on a one to one basis.

The man the people call “Chemical Sal” raised your taxes 47% and now his answer is “I have a lot of friends! Bob Menendez is my friend!” (WNY Town Hall Meeting 4 15 09) He now announces a 19% drop in the taxes he already raised 47%, and you’re supposed to be grateful for the outrageous 28% he’ll permanently keep for him and his friend’s high salaries. The Pulse of West New York will explain it all: Read it. It’s a bilingual publication! It’s a West New York kind of publication!
