1. You can say that McCain is not the answer Rafael and I would agree with you but I can say that if Obama wins, than it will be the end of Democracy, mark my words on that one. Think it out very well before you vote for Obama. I’m not saying to vote for McCain but think twice before you take that giant leap, make sure you know what you are going to get into and be a part of. Obama is a phony, if you don’t see that, then you are blind. Buena suerte!

2. I guess I am blind because I see hope for the future and a message full of humanism that will benefit our great country. You make it sound like if Obama is the leader of a cult. I hope you can’t separate democratic elections from our cause and don’t follow anti democratic examples for which our community shows a inclination at the same time that they claim to support a democratic Cuba (including those who censure in the name of democracy and haven’t even experienced one day of Communism. I hope you-José-living in the greatest city on earth have a more open mind about this. If not I am not surprised. I’ve seen everything in my long years of exile. If Obama turns out to be a demagogue then we the people will take him out of office in four years. This is not Cuba or Venezuela. On the other hand I am very careful differentiating American politics from the Cuban cause. Good Luck and I hope you keep in touch. Having different points of view is what this is all about. 5. I know what you are saying but it’s your opinion just like what I mentined is mine. Put Cuba on the side, this has nothing to do with Cuba and we are in accordance to what we feel about Cuba, that’s for sure. This has nothing to do with the Embargo or No Embargo, remember that. I am not a Ron Paul fanatic, although he has a head on his shoulder. I don’t trust politicians anyway, I rather have an economist running for president. You say you are a democrat, well let me tell you, Obama is not a Democrat, there’s none to be found at the moment. What there is now is Liberals, that’s what I am talking about. I’m talking Truman, FDR and even JFK, that’s a Democrat. This Obama doesn’t care about America, all he does is put it down. That’s the atmosphere we live in, come on Rafael Frances don’t you see it around you, don’tyou guys get mad when people talk bad about America? That’s all you hear the MSM do and they are runned by Liberals. At the same time, I can’t stand an ultra Right Winged republican, but I will support anyone who stands for this country and Liberals are Anti-Americans. All I’m asking is to analyze how the future will be with Obama. Before you know it, all the traditions that were celebrated here in America will not be celebrated again. Who knows, maybe , if he’s elected, maybe we will not celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, Veterans day, Memorial Day and who knows maybe he’ll stop celebrating the 4th of July. You call that an American, you think I’m nuts? If he wins, you’ll see that I’m right and I hope I’m wrong but then again, it will be too late anyway. Think about tradition, God Bless America

   But let’s ignore that for a second, and assume you meant the latter more than the former. So it’s not about Cuba (understood, I myself don’t see how a foreign country’s wellbeing could possibly factor into my native country’s presidential elections), and it’s not about Republican or Democrat, meaning it’s not about conservative or liberal. So if it’s not about nationalism and it’s not about political beliefs, then I’m at a loss for what we should be voting on. On what should we be judging our presidential candidates.

I want a play-by-play of how magically all the Constitution’s safeguards (Articles I and III, Amendments 1-10, 12, 13, 15-17, 19, 20, 22, 24-26) are going to disappear and Obama will be free to turn America into a neo-USSR. I’m genuinely curious.

7. What am I flip flopping about, Truman, FDR and JFK were true American presidents and who’s Stephen Colbert?? It’s about the American people being proud to be Americans and stop putting their country down. Complaining about everything American and making themselves to be bullies, when in fact we are getting bullied around by the world. Stop blaming ourselves as we started everything and we have to pay. Americans now are not together as a nation, there’s no more patriotism any more. Heck, us Cuban-Americans are more patriotic towards America than Americans that were born here. Republicans are more Traditional than Democrats are now, not like it used to be, until Carter came by. Democrats are Liberals and Liberals are anti-American, do you agree with me there? If you don’t then you are completely lost.
   Obama is a phony, he has no experience and he’s definitely a racist and he’s anti-traditional, which makes him anti-American to me. He’s being manipulated by the MSM and they are Liberals and Liberals are Socialist and those are facts! Do as you wish Francis, I’m not stopping you. Vote for him and if he wins, which I stronly feel will not happen anyway, then you will see how magically the amendments disapear. Freedom of speech is being attacked on a daily basis by the Liberals and if they get their wish and pull the strings the right way, they will call the shots, then it will be too late. Watch how magically it will happen if Obama gets elected. It’s better to have a republican president with a Democrat-Liberal house of Representative and Senate than to have a Democrat president there, that will be an all-out liberal presence. The middle of the road people like me, who don’t give a crap about politics will suffer the most. We must “All” have some control of our government and our god-given rights. If Obama wins, then we are doomed. By we, I mean you and I and all of us. And let me ask you Frances, if Obama wins then what will you think and feel about me, will we still be friends? Or will you despise Republican traditional thinkers like me and feel proud, that your wish that Obama won came true? Now when and if he wins, then what will be your next step, how will you help his cause? Will you walk tall and proud and feel that you are “Justified” now? What will you say when a law in the State of New Jesey goes through, stating that you cannot celebrate Christmas in school any school, public or catholic? What will you say when your kid comes home from school and tells you that Fidel and el Che were great men because the text book his or her teacher uses says so? You don’t feel it is going to happen, Frances, it’s right around the corner. Do as you wish, vote for who you wish, I’m not stopping you, that’s for sure, but I feel I could give you some type of advice on what my obsevations are. I hope it’s ok with you?

8. You flip-flopped about whether or not choosing a political candidate was about political inclinations, but I’ll give you that in an inspired state you may have not noticed you contradicted yourself.

   Stephen Colbert is a very funny liberal comedian that has a satirical conservative tv show on Comedy Central. Check him out!

   I can’t agree with you that all Democrats hate America, or that all liberals do. First of all because there are those that are social Liberals and those that are economic Liberals, and there are neo-liberals who have nothing to do with American Liberals. But I’ll just assume you mean the Left. There are two types of American leftists: those that do, indeed, hate America and everything it stands for (freedom, prosperity, etc), and there are those that genuinely believe that America would be a better place if the government helped the little guy a little more than it does now. Those Democrats do not hate America. I think Barack Obama is in the latter group, a benign albeit misguided group. But this black/white dichotomy (no racial pun intended) makes it a little hard to understand the world’s nuances, no?

   I can understand that “change” is both nebulous and risky, and that makes Obama an undesirable candidate. I myself won’t vote for him simply because I disagree with his tendencies towards higher taxes and socialized medicine. And I would feel exactly the same about you whether or not Obama wins the election, because politics is not a personal matter, and I don’t judge people by their political beliefs (most of my friends are what you would call “liberals”, but I don’t hold it against them. They will grow up one day).

   Where you start losing me is when you go off the deep end about Obama banning Christmas and installing himself as Chief Quaestor of America. If America survived FDR’s socialist welfare plans in the New Deal, if we survived JFK’s true attempt at working with the communists during the Cold War (both extreme leftists and both presidents you claim to admire), how is Obama any more powerful than they were to destroy it? With Kennedy, the US already proved that if a president really, really wanted to destroy the Constitution, the CIA would just kill him, no big deal. But JFK conspiracy theories aside, I just don’t see what’s so special about Obama that he would be able to do what these men tried so hard to do. I mean, FDR was president for 12 years. 12 years! and was supposed to rule for 16!

   And if he wins, I will celebrate McCain’s loss, and then laugh and say “don’t blame me- I voted for Bob Barr” when everyone’s taxes quadruple.

   Sorry about the long rant, but I did want to address all your points… it helps me clear up my political beliefs as much as it does to you!

9. Ok Frances, you are not ranting at all and you explained your political views very well, but I disagree with your assessment of Mr. Comemierda Obama. As you can see, I am not so politically oriented but I do see an inexperienced a-hole who the FAR LEFT MSM is carrying on their back so they could do as they please, because they have the CASH to do so. This is the same MSM that has made El Che and Fidel to be Great Men, that’s a fact. Obama is their puppet, their ticket for the FAR LEFT Liberals. Call them social, economical, neo, it’s all the same to me, they are all anti-American and anti-traditional, just like the bearded one and his Maricon brother in Cuba. There is only one kind of leftist, you are confused there! Obama is not the answer and you are not even sure about it either because you state that “I Think” Obama is different. Well you have to be sure about it because this is a very important election, like I mentioned before, there is a lot at stake here. As for FDR, he was placed in an awkward situation with the depression, I never liked Kennedy, Nixon should have won and Truman did what he had to do. But Obama has ties with racist groups, doesn’t care about the Latin-Americans and will lose because of that. He’s mister flip-flop, not me. You were the one who placed that incredible celebration of Obama with all the fireworks, that’s why I commented here. You call yourself a Cuban-American and you are voting for Obama, talk about flip-flop, come on. What’s all the celebration about?? Why are you so happy, you can’t stand Republicans so much, big deal if it’s his birthday. Explain to me why “Exactly” do you like or may I say “admire” Obama so much.Tell me all the policies that he will implement and that you feel will give “you” a better life and make you more patriotic than you are, if it’s possible. Be specific, don’t tell me where he stands and explain to me in detail his policy. Or maybe its that you hate McCain because he’s 70 years old and he is a Republican, is that why you posted this silly celebration of Obama’s 47th birthday. Who cares about his birthday??
