WSJ Says John McCain is Not Rafael Nadal!
As Wonkette has already caught on to, today is National Day Out Against John McCain, where every respectable publication in the country writes an over-the-top mean article just flat-out calling John McCain an imbecile. But by far the winner of the “most painfully true McCain article of the day” award goes out to Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal, whose article “Is John McCain Stupid?” reads like an angry blog post by an ex-RNC member who got fired for being a little to the left of Mussolini. My favorite quote is the following, which quips that someone better notify McCain that he isn’t Rafa Nadal [UPDATE: upon further inspection, "19-year-old US Open finalist" that wanted to beat Roger Federer and couldn't is probably more of a reference to Novak Djokovic, but the image of McCain with long "conquistador" hair, a sleeveless shirt, and capris is way too funny to let reality get in the way]:
Sen. McCain is a famously undisciplined politician. Someone in the McCain circle had better do some straight talking to the candidate. He’s not some 19-year-old tennis player who’s going to win the U.S. presidential Open on raw talent and the other guy’s errors. He’s not that good.
