Richard Simmons to Congress: No Child Left Behind is Killing Our Children
Fitness guru Richard Simmons of “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” fame testified before Congress today on the severe damage that No Child Left Behind has caused to American children’s health. The program has cut millions of dollars in physical education to be able to pay for its massive reorganization of special education and bilingual programs. The goal of the NCLB Act is to ignore differences among children and teach them all as if they were equally retarded.
Highlights of Simmons’ visit include his threat to run for office and an exciting workout on the steps of the Capitol.
