2007 Winners and Losers Update!

Winner of The Year: US Congressman (D-NJ) poses with Cuban ex-political prisoners in a Mario Fernandez-sponsored breakfast in Miami, on the far right our brother, a great friend of Rafael Martel, Angel “La Cota” Alemán, a Human Rights Champion and Pro-Democracy Advocate. Congressman Sires has improved the quality of life of its district, never forgetting his roots and keeping his word to his friends. This, in a politician, is an invaluable commodity, that’s why his reward is loyalty, an extremely rare gem in politics. He was able to solidify his base standing on his record of service and improvement in West New York, and the NJ State Assembly; he closed ranks with populist State Senator, Brian P. Stack, to form a solid block against the reactionary forces of Hudson County. Sires kept the allegiance of his friends by being a man of his word, and a public official concerned with the wellbeing of his people. He’s a definite winner in the 2007 Rafaelmartel.com winner’s inner circle. Sires has also the distinction of earning a good grade from Babalublog.com, considering that he’s a democrat, although Babalublog will acknowledge-as I was told by them in their Radio Hour-the pro-Cuban democracy record of a politician above his party afiliation. That’s the reason Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart and many leading Republicans were present at his Miami breakfast, where he received a beautiful plaque for his work in our struggle.

You are correct. Albio Sires and any Democrat that stands up for Cuban liberty should be applauded. Hopefully more of his colleagues will join him.
