La Piñata de Vega: How Sal Vega’s Fiscal Irresponsibility will Not be Tolerated by the People!!!!
Janet Passante holds 3 jobs making a fortune while the people of West New York have to pay Higher Taxes!!!!

On the October 2-15, 2007 issue of the weekly news publication, Cine y Novelas, its editor, Roberto Cueto, has published, in a passionate editorial, the increased salaries that West New York’s Mayor Sal Vega, has awarded his political cronies, Sal will always be remembered as the only Cuban public official-in history- to deny his own people the right to celebrate a parade honoring Cuban heritage. Vega’s involvement in politics goes way back, to the days of the Defino dictatorship in West New York-Defino seems to be Vega’s role model. After a long struggle in democratic politics-12 years-now Congressman Albio Sires rightfully won an election to become West New York’s first Cuban mayor. Last year Sires entrusted Vega with the mayorship of West New York to garner a seat in the US Congress. Vega’s was supposed to be Sire’s friend, he would just have to continue the progress, building on the initiatives Sires had carried out to the benefit of West New York residents. That wasn’t Vega’s plan. Immediately after he took office he began a fierce campaign against Sire’s friends and political allies, placing his friends and political hacks-like the guy who walks Vega’s dog everyday-in high paying salaries.
He then turned to Union City’s Mayor and State Assemblyman, Brian P. Stack, perhaps the only populist in the state, a hands-on politician with one of the strongest grass roots followings in the nation. Surely the strongest in the state of New Jersey. Vega challenged Stack for a seat in the State Senate within the Democratic ranks only to be soundly humiliated 10,000 to 900 votes. It was during this campaign that Vega showed his true colors. He prohibited the Cuban community to celebrate The Cuban Parade in the streets of West New York, a parade that celebrates the contributions and success of Cuban Americans in the nation that opened its doors for opportunity and freedom. Cuban-Americans were outraged, and embarrassed by the dirty campaign Vega conducted against Brian P. Stack, a native of Union City, who the Cuban community embraces as its adoptive son. During this campaign Vega’s TV advertisement and inside tactics evoked the repulsion of the most experienced Hudson County politicians, considering that if you participate in this county’s politics you’re considered to hold a Ph.D. in hardball democratic politics.
It was clear that Sal Vega was going in the wrong direction. Ill advised and rumored to be a party goer, with Key West “The Key to Happiness” as his habitual destination, Vega continued his rampage leaving the streets of West New York full of potholes and its people to the appointments of his secretary-the most hated woman in West New York- Janet Passante, whom, I have been told, checks who’s late, who’s early, who talks to who in City Hall and outside, who eats lunch at what hour, and who is nice to the mayor, all this in a particularly Caucasian tendency which has earned the scorn of most Hispanics employees. (curiously enough Passante’s last name does not suggest an Aryan, not even a Slavic origin but-if it’s Italian-we should remember that this great country was sacked by the Goths as wells as the Barbarians who finally raped every woman they could find: making Italy and its islands the cradle of multiculturalism).
Only one source would pay for all the fiscal irresponsibility for which Vega has incurred: taxes. What else?! He raised taxes, also raising the salaries of his amigos and amiguitos to scandalous heights. Vega is also notorious for falling in the Hudson River, as was reported. This time it seems that Vega has chosen to make West New York the Hudson River to dive into “La Vida Loca”- a Ricky Martin song with political implications.
We now reproduce the salaries as published by Cine y Novelas in its latest issue. This is what we call The Piñata of Sal Vega:

As you can see from the editorial of Cine y Novelas, straight up, Sal Vega is no good for the people of West New York. Sal Vega is no good for the people of Hudson County.
Rafaelmartel.com, always against the abuse of the people, and always pro-democracy rejects the tactics and the political agenda of Sal Vega, once considered by us as a solid politician, Vega has fallen into the lower level of Hudson County politics.
